The big break is the 2015 switch to a high-strength aluminum-alloy body (12th gen), which changed both the panel feel and how primer/clear sits versus the 2009-2014 steel trucks; there were also mid-cycle fascia refreshes in 2018 and again with the 14th-gen 2021 redesign, both of which moved the grille and headlight die-lines, so a hood or bumper wrap template from a 2017 won't line up on a 2021. ### Does wrapping my aluminum-body F-150 (2015 or newer) cause any corrosion or paint issues when I take it off?
No — quality cast vinyl bonds to the factory clear coat, not the aluminum itself, and on a healthy factory finish it removes cleanly with heat. The thing to watch is any spot where the OEM paint was already chipped or had cheap repaint work, since that's where film can lift paint on removal regardless of the body material.
### Can you wrap the textured plastic parts like the bumpers and bed rail caps, or just the painted panels?
The painted sheet metal wraps beautifully, but the heavily textured black plastic bumpers, fender flares, and bed caps on XL/STX trims don't hold vinyl well long-term and are usually left as-is or done in a separate trim film.
