F-150s get wrapped mostly as rolling billboards for trades and fleets — contractors, landscapers, plumbers — because the size-L slab sides and tall doors give you the biggest legible ad space of any half-ton, and an owner-operator wants color matched across a mixed fleet of model years. The unique angle is that the F-150's aluminum body (2015-on) actually wraps and de-bonds cleaner than steel-bodied rivals, so it's a strong candidate for color-change resale flips, not just commercial work.

## What a Ford F-150 wrap costs

The F-150 is a **full-size** vehicle — roughly **340 sq ft** of wrappable surface. Commercial graphics and lettering start from **$650**, and a full color change is priced by the area we cover — **$17/sq ft** up to 50 sq ft, **$15** up to 100, **$13** for larger jobs, **$550** minimum, never a flat badge rate. The price tracks square footage and install hours on the F-150 itself — not the badge on the trunk.

Model-year note. The big break is the 2015 switch to a high-strength aluminum-alloy body (12th gen), which changed both the panel feel and how primer/clear sits versus the 2009-2014 steel trucks; there were also mid-cycle fascia refreshes in 2018 and again with the 14th-gen 2021 redesign, both of which moved the grille and headlight die-lines, so a hood or bumper wrap template from a 2017 won't line up on a 2021. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

## Wrapping a Ford F-150: panels & install

The long, flat bedsides and cab doors are easy laminate real estate, but the work is at the edges: the deep body-line crease running door-to-bed, the wheel-arch flares, the tailgate's recessed FORD lettering or applique on newer trims, and getting film to tuck cleanly around the bed rail caps and into the door handle buckets. The two-piece cab/bed gap means you plan seams at the panel break rather than bridging it.

## Finishes for your F-150

Satin or matte black is the runaway favorite on this truck because it kills the chrome-grille glare and reads tough without the orange-peel highlighting you get from gloss on those big flat bedsides; for commercial fleets, gloss is still correct since printed branding and logos pop and clean up easier. Skip full chrome on a vehicle this large — heat and the flat panels make it a maintenance headache. ## Owner tip for your F-150

From our install bench. Those big slab-sided F-150 doors and the long bedside panels are where wrap really shines, but the deep bodyline crease running through them needs post-heating or vinyl pulls back there first. If your bed sees ladders and gear, ask about extra laminate along the tailgate top edge.

## Ford F-150 wrap FAQ

### Does wrapping my aluminum-body F-150 (2015 or newer) cause any corrosion or paint issues when I take it off?
No — quality cast vinyl bonds to the factory clear coat, not the aluminum itself, and on a healthy factory finish it removes cleanly with heat. The thing to watch is any spot where the OEM paint was already chipped or had cheap repaint work, since that's where film can lift paint on removal regardless of the body material.

### Can you wrap the textured plastic parts like the bumpers and bed rail caps, or just the painted panels?
The painted sheet metal wraps beautifully, but the heavily textured black plastic bumpers, fender flares, and bed caps on XL/STX trims don't hold vinyl well long-term and are usually left as-is or done in a separate trim film. We map out which pieces are paint versus grained plastic before quoting so the truck reads as one cohesive color.

### How much does it cost to wrap a Ford F-150?
Commercial graphics and lettering on a F-150 start from $650, and a full color-change wrap is priced by the vehicle's size and the area we cover. Coverage, finish, and how complex the design is move the number — the badge never does. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

### How long does a F-150 wrap last, and does it come off clean?
A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a F-150 lasts about 5–7 years with care. A F-150 that lives outside lands at the lower end of that range; a garaged one holds the top — either way removal is paint-safe. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
