Transit owners wrap for fleet identity and resale-protection: the medium- and high-roof bodies give an enormous, mostly flat broadside that turns into a rolling billboard, and the underlying body panel returns to clean factory paint when the lease or contract ends. The unique angle is roof height — a high-roof Transit puts your branding closer to eye level for pedestrians and at windshield height for other drivers, so the vertical real estate above the beltline is worth far more than on a low van like a Ford Connect or a sedan.

## What a Ford Transit wrap costs

The Transit is a **extra-large** vehicle — roughly **420 sq ft** of wrappable surface. Commercial graphics and lettering start from **$1,100**, and a full color change is priced by the area we cover — **$17/sq ft** up to 50 sq ft, **$15** up to 100, **$13** for larger jobs, **$550** minimum, never a flat badge rate. That's quoted off the Transit's real surface area and time on the bench, so a same-size sedan costs the same as a Tesla — no badge tax.

Model-year note. The 2015 US launch and the 2020 mid-cycle refresh are the real die-line boundaries: the 2020-onward facelift redrew the grille and headlamps and added the available driver-assist sensors, so a pre-2020 front-end template won't register on a refreshed truck, and 2023 brought the E-Transit electric variant whose blanked-off grille panel changes the front graphic layout again. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

## Wrapping a Ford Transit: panels & install

The cargo side is a single broad slab broken only by the sliding-door track recess and the body swage lines, but the install pain is in the deep vertical body-side ribs/corrugations near the rear quarters and around the wheel arches, where vinyl has to be heated into the channels without bridging or tearing. Glass-vs-panel van matters too: a windowed crew/passenger Transit forces you to wrap around fixed glass and the B/C-pillar pinch seams, while the panel van gives you uninterrupted real estate but bigger, heavier single sheets to lay flat.

## Finishes for your Transit

Gloss is the workhorse here — the large flat sides reflect logos and contact info crisply and gloss laminate is the easiest to keep clean on a working van, which matters when the same panel collects road film daily. Save matte or satin for owner-operator/lifestyle builds; on a tall slab-sided body, matte shows every wave and finger track and reads less professional for trade signage. ## Owner tip for your Transit

From our install bench. Those tall, flat Transit side panels are the canvas owners love for full-color logos, but the high roof and squared-off rear corners catch wind and grime constantly. Wipe the rear edges weekly and avoid pressure-washing straight at the seams where lifting starts.

## Ford Transit wrap FAQ

### Does the high-roof Transit need extra material or cost more to wrap than the low-roof?
Yes — the medium- and high-roof bodies add a tall vertical band of body-side surface above the beltline, so they consume noticeably more vinyl than a low-roof and take longer because of the working height. The extra area is also why a high roof gives you the most usable advertising space of any common cargo van.

### Can you wrap the ribbed/corrugated lower body panels without the vinyl lifting later?
We can, but those recessed ribs and the swage channels along the lower body sides have to be heated and tucked rather than bridged, then post-heated so the vinyl stays seated. Bridging the channels is the number-one cause of edges lifting on a Transit, so cast vinyl and proper inlaying into the grooves are non-negotiable on this body.

### How much does it cost to wrap a Ford Transit?
Commercial graphics and lettering on a Transit start from $1,100, and a full color-change wrap is priced by the vehicle's size and the area we cover. What changes it is how much of the Transit you cover and which finish you choose, not the make. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

### How long does a Transit wrap last, and does it come off clean?
A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a Transit lasts about 5–7 years with care. On a high-use Transit, sealed edges around the doors and panels are what make it last; at end of life it removes paint-safe. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
