There is a hard generation break inside this range: the fifth-gen CR-V runs 2017–2022 and the boxier, more upright sixth-gen launched for 2023, so a 2022 and a 2023 take completely different templates and panel die-lines. Within the fifth gen, the 2020 mid-cycle refresh changed the front fascia, grille and lower bumper, which shifts the front-end coverage pieces versus 2017–2019.
