Tacoma owners wrap mostly to protect resale on a truck that famously holds its value, and because the off-road TRD crowd wants a look the factory never offered without repainting a $40k+ rig. The bed sides, tailgate, and that tall slab of a hood are big flat real estate that takes color-shift and matte camo cleanly, so a wrap turns a common silver or white Tacoma into a one-off without touching the paint underneath.

What a Toyota Tacoma wrap costs

The Tacoma is a mid-size vehicle — roughly 300 sq ft of wrappable surface. Commercial graphics and lettering start from $650, and a full color change is priced by the area we cover — $17/sq ft up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 for larger jobs, $550 minimum, never a flat badge rate. You pay for the film and the labor it takes to cover your Tacoma, never a flat number copied from a bigger or smaller vehicle.

Model-year note. There's a hard template break: 2016–2023 is the third generation (N300), then the all-new fourth generation (N400) arrives for 2024 with a wider, flatter, more upright fascia, a redesigned hood and bedside, and revised mirror caps, so a 3rd-gen kit will not lay onto a 2024+ truck. Within the 3rd gen, the 2020 refresh changed the grille and hood scoop styling slightly, which matters for hood and front-end die-lines. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

Wrapping a Toyota Tacoma: panels & install

The Tacoma's signature is its deeply sculpted bedside flares and the pronounced power-dome hood, both of which need relief cuts and heat-set channels rather than a single pull; the molded-in plastic fender flares (textured black on SR/TRD Off-Road) and the composite bed are the trickiest, since vinyl behaves differently on the grained plastic than on the steel cab. The big honest tailgate with stamped "TACOMA" lettering on later trucks wraps flat but the recessed letters need a fingertip and a pin-prick to seat.

Finishes for your Tacoma

Satin or matte black/military green suits this truck best because the Tacoma's hard creased body lines read as bulky and aggressive without gloss glare, and a flat finish hides the inevitable trail rash and brush scratches far better than gloss; color-shift works on the flat hood and roof for a show build but is harder to keep consistent across the flared bedsides. Owner tip for your Tacoma

From our install bench. The Tacoma's molded-in textured plastic bumpers, fender flares, and bedside cladding won't hold vinyl, so plan the wrap around painted sheet metal only. Pop the bed rail caps before wrapping the bedsides, and if you run a matte finish, keep a foam squeegee away from those grained surfaces.

Toyota Tacoma wrap FAQ

Can you wrap the textured black fender flares on my TRD Off-Road?

We can, but the grained plastic flares hold vinyl far less reliably than the smooth steel panels, so adhesion and edge lift are real risks over time. Many owners leave the factory-textured flares black and wrap only the cab, doors, hood, and bed for a cleaner long-term result.

Will a wrap survive my bed taking gear, dogs, and trail abuse?

The cab and exterior panels hold up fine, but the bed rails and bedside tops take the most abrasion, so a matte or satin film hides scuffs better than gloss there. We don't recommend wrapping the inner bed floor since cast-in composite and constant loading will tear or scratch any film quickly.

How much does it cost to wrap a Toyota Tacoma?

Commercial graphics and lettering on a Tacoma start from $650, and a full color-change wrap is priced by the vehicle's size and the area we cover. Final price depends on coverage, finish, and design — never a flat badge price. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

How long does a Tacoma wrap last, and does it come off clean?

A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a Tacoma lasts about 5–7 years with care. On a work truck like the Tacoma the vinyl takes the jobsite scuffs instead of your paint, and it still peels clean off healthy panels when the graphics change. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
