Owners wrap an M4 to protect or transform a car that already turns heads, but the real driver is its limited factory color palette: most M4s leave the showroom in black, white, or one of BMW's signature blues, so a wrap is the fastest way to stand out from the pack of identical M4s at every Cars and Coffee. The two-door coupe and convertible share a long, sculpted hood with the signature power dome and the wide flared fenders that house the staggered wheel setup, giving a wrapped car dramatic light play across the body lines. Many Sacramento owners also wrap to shield the original finish on a track-driven or daily-driven performance car before resale.

What a BMW M4 wrap costs

The M4 is a mid-size vehicle — roughly 250 sq ft of wrappable surface. A full color change starts from $3,250, with lettering and partials from $550$17/sq ft up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 for larger jobs, $550 minimum, never a flat badge rate. The price tracks square footage and install hours on the M4 itself — not the badge on the trunk.

Model-year note. The 2014–2020 cars are the first-generation F82 coupe and F83 convertible, while 2021 onward is the all-new G82/G83 with the tall vertical kidney grille and a completely redesigned front fascia, so die-lines and templates do not carry over between the two generations. Within the F82 run, the LCI mid-cycle refresh around 2018 brought revised LED headlights and minor trim changes that affect front-end and lighting-surround templates. Wrapping a BMW M4: panels & install

The M4's heavily contoured hood power bulge, the pronounced fender flares, and the deep character line running through the doors all demand relief cuts and patient heat-and-stretch work so the film conforms without lifting at the high points. The G82's wide kidney-grille fascia, side gills, and the carbon roof on Competition cars create tight edges and recessed seams that need careful inlays rather than wrapping over.

Finishes for your M4

Satin or matte finishes suit the M4 best because they mute glare across its aggressive surfacing and accentuate the fender flares and hood dome where gloss would just throw reflections, while a color-shift film plays beautifully off those same curves for a show build. Gloss remains the safe choice if the goal is a factory-fresh look or maximum resale appeal. Owner tip for your M4

From our install bench. The M4's wide front kidney grilles and pronounced fender flares fight clean wrap edges, so insist your installer relief-cuts and post-heats around them. Satin and matte finishes are popular here, but they show fingerprints fast near the frameless door handles, so wipe with a microfiber, not your palm.

BMW M4 wrap FAQ

Does the carbon fiber roof on my M4 Competition need to be wrapped too?

The exposed carbon roof is a separate panel and is often left bare since owners want that carbon weave visible, but it can be wrapped or paint-protected if you want a uniform color or to shield it from UV fade. If you do wrap it, the recessed edges where the roof meets the body pillars need clean inlays.

Can you wrap around the M4's side gill vents and hood vents without removing trim?

For the cleanest result we remove the side gill trim and tuck the film behind it rather than wrapping over the raised edges, which prevents lifting at those vents over time. The functional hood and fender vents are also relieved and inlaid individually so the wrap looks factory rather than bridged over the openings.

How much does it cost to wrap a BMW M4?

A full color-change wrap on a M4 — about 250 sq ft of mid-size surface — starts from $3,250, with partials and lettering from $550. Coverage, finish, and how complex the design is move the number — the badge never does. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

How long does a M4 wrap last, and does it come off clean?

A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a M4 lasts about 5–7 years with care. Garaged and hand-washed, a M4 holds the upper end of that range; baking in the Sacramento sun pushes it lower. Removal stays clean and paint-safe. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
