F-Type owners almost always weigh full color-change wrap against paint protection film, because Jaguar's solid and metallic paint on the aluminium body marks and stone-chips easily on a low, wide car, and the most common colors (British Racing Green, Firenze Red, Caldera Red, Polaris White) are everywhere at Cars and Coffee. A wrap lets an owner go off-catalog (a satin or color-shift the factory never offered) while a printed full wrap or a wrap-plus-PPF combo shields the soft front clip the car is known to sandblast. The unique angle: this is an all-aluminium monocoque, so panels are smooth and flex differently than steel, and the deployable rear spoiler and active exhaust area need to be worked around rather than wrapped over.

What a Jaguar F-Type wrap costs

The F-Type is a mid-size vehicle — roughly 220 sq ft of wrappable surface. A full color change starts from $2,850, with lettering and partials from $550$17/sq ft up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 for larger jobs, $550 minimum, never a flat badge rate. You pay for the film and the labor it takes to cover your F-Type, never a flat number copied from a bigger or smaller vehicle.

Model-year note. There is a major 2020/2021 facelift that re-skins the front: the 2014–2019 cars use the taller twin-pod headlight and rounder nose, while the 2021–2024 refresh switches to a much slimmer, wider LED headlight, a flatter clamshell bonnet, and a lower, wider grille, so front-clip and hood die-lines/templates from a pre-facelight car will not line up on a post-facelight one. Coupe vs convertible and the 5.0L V8 R/SVR bumper and spoiler variants also change the front and rear templates within this range. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

Wrapping a Jaguar F-Type: panels & install

The clamshell-style aluminium hood/bonnet, the long fastback-to-roofline curve on the coupe, and the heavily sculpted rear haunches over the wide rear track demand relief cuts and post-heat on the compound curves, and the coupe's deployable spoiler plus the convertible's tonneau/folding-top shutline must be masked and trimmed, not bridged. The frameless-feeling flush door handles (deployable on later cars) and the tight gap around the side vents are the spots that fight you on a clean edge-wrap.

Finishes for your F-Type

Satin or a metallic/color-shift suits the F-Type best because the car's muscular haunch and hood contours read flat and lifeless under plain gloss vinyl on a daily, while satin holds the sculpted shoulder line and a color-shift plays off the curvature the way the original concept design intended. If the owner wants to keep it close to factory intent, a deep gloss in a non-catalog hue over the smooth aluminium panels photographs cleanly, but matte tends to hide the very body sculpting people buy this car for. Owner tip for your F-Type

From our install bench. The F-Type's pop-up rear spoiler and the long aluminium clamshell hood are the spots to watch. We relief-cut and post-heat the vinyl around the spoiler's moving edge so deploying it at speed won't peel a corner, and wrap the hood seams cleanly. Satin grey suits its haunches beautifully.

Jaguar F-Type wrap FAQ

Should I wrap my F-Type or just get PPF on the front?

Many owners do both: clear paint protection film on the impact zones (front bumper, hood leading edge, mirrors, rocker behind the front wheels) and a color-change wrap over it or instead of it. If your goal is purely to change color or go off-catalog, a wrap does that; if your only concern is protecting the soft Jaguar paint from rock chips on the low front clip, PPF is the better tool.

Will a wrap work over the coupe's pop-up rear spoiler and the active exhaust area?

The deployable rear spoiler is wrapped as its own piece with the panel masked at its shutlines so the vinyl never bridges the moving gap, and we keep film clear of the active-exhaust valve tips and surrounding heat zone. Done right it deploys and retracts normally with no lifting at the edges.

How much does it cost to wrap a Jaguar F-Type?

A full color-change wrap on a F-Type — about 220 sq ft of mid-size surface — starts from $2,850, with partials and lettering from $550. Final price depends on coverage, finish, and design — never a flat badge price. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

How long does a F-Type wrap last, and does it come off clean?

A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a F-Type lasts about 5–7 years with care. Garaged and hand-washed, a F-Type holds the upper end of that range; baking in the Sacramento sun pushes it lower. Removal stays clean and paint-safe. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
