Outlander owners come to us mostly to add presence to what is otherwise a tall, slab-sided family crossover: the fourth generation rides on the same CMF-C/D platform as the Nissan Rogue, so it has a big upright grille, a generous hood, and large door faces that read like blank canvas for color-blocking or a two-tone roof. The unique angle here is the front end: the Outlander splits its lighting into a thin LED daytime strip up high and the main headlamps low in the bumper (Mitsubishi's Dynamic Shield face), so a partial hood-and-fender wrap can dramatically restyle the whole vehicle without touching glass. Rideshare and small-business owners around Sacramento also wrap them because the flat doors and large quarter panels take lettering and logos cleanly.

How much does it cost to wrap a Mitsubishi Outlander?

Expect from $3,500 to wrap a Outlander. It is a mid-size vehicle — about 270 sq ft of panels — and Sacramento pricing runs $13–$17 per sq ft, $550 minimum, with print production adding 2–3 business days before install.

The Outlander is a mid-size vehicle — roughly 270 sq ft of wrappable surface. A full color change starts from $3,500, with lettering and partials from $550$17/sq ft up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 for larger jobs, $550 minimum, never a flat badge rate. The price tracks square footage and install hours on the Outlander itself — not the badge on the trunk.

What a Outlander wrap will not do. It will not hide failing paint — film needs sound factory paint underneath, otherwise removal can pull the surface with it. It will not last equally everywhere: 3M warrants Series 2080 for 7 years on vertical panels but 2 years on horizontal ones like the roof. And it will not come off free — removal runs $75 per hour depending on the film's age.
Model-year note. The 2022 launch was the all-new fourth-generation Outlander, and Mitsubishi gave it a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year that revised the front and rear fascias, the grille insert, and the wheel designs, so a 2022-2023 front-bumper and hood template will not line up with a 2024-2026 car. Always confirm pre- or post-refresh before cutting, and note the PHEV trim runs its own charge-port door on the driver-side rear quarter that has to be relieved and wrapped separately. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

How long does it take to wrap a Mitsubishi Outlander?

The Outlander's doors and quarter panels are broad and relatively flat, which lays down fast, but the real time goes into the sculpted hood crease, the strong fender shoulder line over the wheel arches, and the chrome/black "Dynamic Shield" trim brackets around the grille that have to be masked or removed rather than wrapped over. The available black contrast roof and the thick D-pillar/floating-roof treatment mean a clean two-tone needs careful relief cuts and primer-tape anchoring along the roof rails and rear hatch spoiler.

Plan on 1–3 days in the bay for a Outlander, plus 2–3 business days of printing beforehand. Handles, badges and trim come off so film wraps into the mid-size body's recesses; every stretched edge is post-heated so the vinyl keeps its shape.

From our install bench. The Outlander's blacked-out roof and thick C-pillar trim break up the rear quarter, so plan seams there rather than mid-panel. Owners often pick a satin gray to play off that two-tone look. Watch the flared wheel-arch lips and liftgate edge near the rear wiper for lifting at washes.

Which wrap finish is best for a Mitsubishi Outlander?

Satin or matte black is the most-requested finish on this body because it tones down the large bright grille and chrome accents and makes the upright Dynamic Shield front look more aggressive without the glare gloss shows on those big flat doors and hood. For owners who want color, a gloss color-shift reads well across the wide door slabs and curved fenders since the panels are large enough to show the flip, while satin is the safer pick on PHEV models whose owners tend to want a more understated, premium look.

Finishes for a Outlander are priced identically per sq ft — gloss, satin, matte, chrome-delete or colour-shift. All are cast film (3M 2080 or Avery Supreme), rated 5–7 years here; satin hides dust and swirls best, matte is the most dramatic and least forgiving. All of them want the same care: pH-neutral hand wash, never a brush tunnel, and no wax or petroleum-based products. Mitsubishi Outlander wrap FAQ

Can you wrap the chrome trim on the grille and around the windows instead of replacing it?

Yes, the Dynamic Shield chrome accents and the window surround trim can be wrapped in satin black or body color to delete the brightwork, which is one of the most popular Outlander requests. We wrap those bright trim pieces individually with proper edge wrap so they look factory rather than painting over them.

Does the contrast black roof on my Outlander make a two-tone color wrap harder?

Not harder, just an easy win — because the floating black roof is already a separate visual element, we can either leave it factory black and wrap only the body, or carry your new color up to the roof rails for a clean break. The thick D-pillars and roof rails give us a natural seam line to terminate the film.

Is a partial wrap cheaper than a full wrap on a Outlander?

Yes, and proportionally so. Coverage is what you pay for: a full colour change on a Outlander covers about 270 sq ft, a partial roughly half that, and lettering or decals around a fifth. The per-square-foot rate is identical — $17 up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 above, with a $550 minimum — so half the coverage really is close to half the price. Coverage, finish, and how complex the design is move the number — the badge never does. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

How long does a Outlander wrap last, and does it come off clean?

A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a Outlander lasts about 5–7 years with care. Garaged and hand-washed, a Outlander holds the upper end of that range; baking in the Sacramento sun pushes it lower. Removal stays clean and paint-safe. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
