Wrapping a Tesla Model Y: panels & install
The Model Y is friendly to wrap because its panels are big and gently curved with minimal body lines, but the install lives or dies on the flush door handles (which sit in a recessed pocket you must wrap into and relief-cut around), the large single-piece glass roof and rear hatch glass that define your top edges, and the deeply contoured front fascia and lower bumper where the conform is tightest. Do the flush door handles on my Model Y make it harder to wrap?
They add real work but aren't a problem for a clean install — the handle sits in a recessed pocket, so we wrap into the pocket and relief-cut so the handle still presses and pops out normally. Done right you won't see the seams or get film catching when the handle deploys.
Can the glass roof be wrapped or color-matched on a Model Y?
We can wrap the painted roof rails and the pillars, but the large glass panel itself is left as glass — vinyl over a load-bearing glass roof isn't recommended and would look off against the surrounding paint. If you want the roof darker, tint or a glass-specific film is the right product, not body vinyl.
