R1T owners wrap mostly to break up the truck's slab-sided, monochrome bodywork and to protect a frunk-and-bed daily-driver that sees real trail and jobsite abuse — the factory palette leans into flat, saturated tones (Forest Green, Compass Yellow, Rivian Blue) that owners either want to deepen or swap entirely. The unique angle is the R1T's signature oval headlights and full-width light bar: a wrap that respects those graphic elements (rather than fighting them) reads as factory, while a contrasting roof-and-pillar wrap exploits the truck's already-blacked-out greenhouse. Because every R1T left the factory in a relatively short color list, a custom satin or color-shift instantly de-anonymizes a vehicle that most people have only seen in five or six paint codes.

How much does it cost to wrap a Rivian R1T?

Wrapping a R1T costs from $4,700. We measure the full-size body at roughly 360 sq ft and bill that area at $13–$17 per sq ft — never a flat badge rate. 2022–2026 model years all quote the same way.

The R1T is a full-size vehicle — roughly 360 sq ft of wrappable surface. A full color change starts from $4,700, with lettering and partials from $550$17/sq ft up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 for larger jobs, $550 minimum, never a flat badge rate. That's quoted off the R1T's real surface area and time on the bench, so a same-size sedan costs the same as a Tesla — no badge tax.

The fine print on a R1T wrap. Horizontal panels (roof, hood, trunk lid) carry a 2-year manufacturer rating against 7 years on the sides — sun does the damage, not mileage. Film over compromised paint risks lifting it at removal, so a pre-wrap inspection is not optional. Budget $75 per hour for taking an old wrap off before the new one goes on.
Model-year note. 2022–2024 trucks are the original R1 generation (Enduro/Quad motor, original interior); the major break is the Second-Generation R1T introduced for the 2025 model year, which kept the exterior silhouette and most die-lines but revised lighting internals, the front fascia/sensor layout, and bumper detailing — so confirm whether a truck is Gen 1 (2022–early 2024) or Gen 2 (2025–2026) before pulling headlight and front-bumper templates. Tell us your year so we cut and quote to the right die-lines.

How long does it take to wrap a Rivian R1T?

The R1T's body is dominated by large flat panels — long clamshell-feel doors, very tall flat bedsides, and a one-piece-looking sail panel — so it wraps fast in the field but demands big single-pull sections to avoid seams, while the powered tonneau, Gear Tunnel door, frunk lid, and oval headlight surrounds each need separate cut-outs and edge wraps. Watch the body-color lower cladding seam and the charge-port door, both of which break the otherwise clean bedside.

A R1T install runs 1–3 days. Roughly 70% of that is preparation — wash, clay-bar, solvent wipe, hardware removal — and 30% is laying film across the 360 sq ft of panels, one panel at a time.

From our install bench. Mask off the R1T's gear tunnel openings and tailgate seams before we wrap, since that pass-through gets daily abuse from gear sliding in and out. Owners love satin colors on these big flat doors, but plan for re-squeegeeing edges around the powered frunk after the first few open-close cycles.

Which wrap finish is best for a Rivian R1T?

Satin is the strongest match: the R1T's large, flat door skins and tall bedsides show every ripple under gloss, and satin's slight diffusion hides minor panel waviness while complementing the truck's already-matte-ish design language and matte-black wheel arches and skid surfaces. For owners chasing presence, a color-shift over the broad, uninterrupted sail-panel and bedside real estate has plenty of surface to actually let the flip color travel.

Any finish on a R1T uses the same cast vinyl and the same rate: 3M 2080 or Avery Dennison Supreme, 5–7 year rating in Sacramento sun. Choose by upkeep, not budget — gloss reads closest to factory paint, matte needs the most careful washing. Chrome is the highest-maintenance of the group; every finish needs a pH-neutral hand wash and no wax, and a fresh wrap stays unwashed for 48–72 hours. Rivian R1T wrap FAQ

Do I have to remove the powered tonneau cover or Gear Tunnel doors to wrap the bed area?

The tonneau itself is typically left as-is or wrapped as a separate component since it's a moving powered panel, but the surrounding bedsides, bed rails, and the Gear Tunnel doors are wrapped in place with edges tucked into the openings. We wrap the Gear Tunnel doors on the vehicle and post-heat the edges so the panel still seats and seals when it closes.

Will a wrap interfere with the R1T's cameras, sensors, or the full-width light bar?

No — we mask and cut cleanly around the front and surround-view cameras, the light bar, and the oval headlights so nothing optical or sensing is covered. Vinyl over the light bar or lamp lenses is avoided entirely; we wrap up to the trim edge so the lighting signature stays factory-correct.

Is a partial wrap cheaper than a full wrap on a R1T?

Yes, and proportionally so. Coverage is what you pay for: a full colour change on a R1T covers about 360 sq ft, a partial roughly half that, and lettering or decals around a fifth. The per-square-foot rate is identical — $17 up to 50 sq ft, $15 up to 100, $13 above, with a $550 minimum — so half the coverage really is close to half the price. What changes it is how much of the R1T you cover and which finish you choose, not the make. Get a real number on our Get Started form.

How long does a R1T wrap last, and does it come off clean?

A quality cast-vinyl wrap on a R1T lasts about 5–7 years with care. Because the R1T is an EV with soft factory paint, the wrap doubles as protection; on healthy paint it removes clean with no adhesive left behind. Every install carries a 60-day workmanship warranty.
